NH DALTON — Transfer Station Committee moves to seek regional recycling partnership as national market for recyclables collapses. With $55-per-ton disposal costs and zero profit on recyclables since China stopped purchasing American waste, co-chairs Jessica Williams and Gal Potashnik are leading research into regional partnerships through NH Recycles and neighboring towns like Bethlehem and Lisbon. The committee is investigating equipment requirements, transportation costs, and grant funding for a potential local transfer station requiring three-phase power.
A meeting with Bethlehem is set for April 27 to discuss a possible regional transfer station.
