NH DALTON — Transfer Station Committee approves prior minutes, explores recycling partnership options. The five-member committee reviewed a Bethlehem presentation and found the community in early partnership stages; members noted three-phase electrical systems appear necessary and costs differ between trash and recyclables transportation. Co-chair Jessica Williams reported on outreach to surrounding towns: Whitefield's transfer station is managed by Jimmy Gooden; Carroll Public Works has declined outside recyclables due to contamination; NH Recycles representatives Brian Patnoe and Sam Foresta indicated the nonprofit serves 95 percent of New Hampshire towns and offers grants up to five thousand dollars or twenty percent of project costs.
The committee rejected a Lisbon proposal as not cost effective and discussed shared hauling arrangements with neighboring communities; the next meeting is June 15 at 5:30 p.m.
